Update 5:30 PST: Earlier today Senator Coburn lifted his hold on the Water for the World Act and the Senate passed the bill! It will now be signed by President Obama and become law!
There is a chance that the Water for the World Act will die in Congress today.
The Water for the World Act will help bring clean water and sanitation to the people who need it most. For the past year and a half, advocate voices around the country have helped make this bill a reality. It has passed the House of Representatives, President Obama is willing to sign the bill into law, but we need Senator Coburn’s support from Oklahoma for this bill to pass through the Senate.
